Product Care

Full-grain hide is a natural material. It softens, darkens slightly, and takes on the marks of use, this is the material behaving as it should, not a fault. Dust weekly with a dry, soft cloth. Vacuum seams and crevices monthly with a brush attachment. Blot spills immediately with a dry cloth. Do not rub, and do not use water on a fresh oil or grease stain. Condition every six months with a conditioner made for finished upholstery leather. Keep at least 60 cm from direct sunlight, radiators, and air-conditioning vents. Continuous cold, dry air dries hide out as surely as heat does. Never use solvents, ammonia, bleach, alcohol, baby wipes, all-purpose sprays, or saddle soap. / For the metalic elements on your peice. Wipe with a dry microfibre cloth, following the direction of the brushing rather than across it. For marks, use a barely damp cloth with a drop of mild soap, then dry immediately water left to evaporate on aluminium leaves mineral spotting that is difficult to remove. Never use abrasive pads, steel wool, scouring cream, oven cleaner, or ammonia-based glass sprays on the metal. These strip the protective anodised layer, after which the surface oxidises and dulls permanently. Keep leather conditioner off the metal. Conditioner that migrates onto aluminium leaves a cloudy residue that hardens and is far harder to remove than it is to avoid. Mask the joins, or apply conditioner to the cloth rather than the furniture.
