Wipe with a dry microfibre cloth, following the direction of the brushing rather than across it. For marks, use a barely damp cloth with a drop of mild soap, then dry immediately water left to evaporate on aluminium leaves mineral spotting that is difficult to remove. Never use abrasive pads, steel wool, scouring cream, oven cleaner, or ammonia-based glass sprays on the metal. These strip the protective anodised layer, after which the surface oxidises and dulls permanently. Keep leather conditioner off the metal. Conditioner that migrates onto aluminium leaves a cloudy residue that hardens and is far harder to remove than it is to avoid. Mask the joins, or apply conditioner to the cloth rather than the furniture.
